CEPA 2026 Spotlight Kids Summer Drama Camp: A Journey into Wonderland

CEPA 2026 Spotlight Kids Summer Drama Camp: A Journey into Wonderland Two-Week Theatre Experience for K–12 Students Begins July 6

Pell City, AL — The Center for Education and Performing Arts (CEPA) is thrilled to announce the return of its Spotlight Kids Summer Drama Camp for 2026. This two-week performing arts experience is open to students who have completed grades kindergarten through 12th grade and will take place July 6–17, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the CEPA facility in Pell City.

This summer, campers will step into a world of imagination as they bring Disney’s Alice in Wonderland to the stage. Packed with whimsical characters, energetic musical numbers, and plenty of theatrical fun, this year’s production promises an unforgettable journey for young performers of all experience levels.

Camp will begin with introductions and auditions on the first day, with casting announced on Day 2. From there, participants will dive into daily rehearsals that include acting, singing, choreography, and stage movement. Each day will also feature theater games and skill-building activities, along with a scheduled break for lunch and snacks (please note, lunch is not provided). Over the course of the two weeks, campers will work together to develop their performance while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Tuition for the camp is $365 and includes daily snacks, a commemorative show t-shirt, and two complimentary tickets to the final performance. A sibling discount is available for families enrolling more than one child. CEPA encourages families in need of financial assistance to reach out to discuss available options.

“I’m excited to return for another year of Spotlight Kids Camp,” said Maci Johnsey, Assistant Director and Spotlight Program Coordinator at CEPA. “Alice was the show we did my first year attending camp as a student so it feels really full circle to get to direct it. Alice in Wonderland is such a creative and playful show, and I know our campers are going to have a fantastic time bringing it to life.”

The camp will conclude with two performances of Alice in Wonderland, on Friday, July 17 and a matinee performance on Saturday, July 18. Additional ticket details will be announced as the performance dates approach. Registration is now open.
