Pell City, AL — The Center for Education and Performing Arts (CEPA) is excited to announce the return of the Spotlight Kids Summer Drama Camp for 2025. This two-week immersive camp, designed for children and teens ages 7 to 17, will take place from July 7 through July 18 at the CEPA facility in Pell City. This year’s camp will focus on the musical Finding Nemo Jr., an underwater adventure full of catchy songs, lively choreography, and heartwarming moments.
Campers will engage in daily activities that include acting, singing, dancing, and learning blocking and choreography for the final performance. Camp will begin on Day 1 with introductions and auditions, followed by the casting of roles on Day 2. After that, it’s full speed ahead as campers start rehearsing for the performances. Each day, campers will warm up, play theater games, and rehearse scenes from the show. There will also be a daily break for snacks and lunch (please note, lunch is not provided). By the end of the two weeks, the campers will be ready to perform in front of family and friends.
The camp is priced at $365 which includes a daily snack, a show t-shirt, and two complimentary tickets to the final performance. Families registering more than one child can take advantage of a sibling discount. If financial assistance is needed, CEPA encourages families to contact us to discuss accommodations and ensure every child has the opportunity to participate.
“I am so excited for my sixth year directing the Spotlight Kids Summer Drama Camp,” said Maci Johnsey, Assistant Director and Spotlight Program Coordinator at CEPA. “Each year, it’s incredible to watch the kids grow and come together as a team. The camp is not just about learning theater skills—it’s about building confidence, teamwork, and friendships. I’m especially excited about Finding Nemo Jr. because it’s such a fun, energetic show that’s perfect for our campers.”
The camp will culminate in two performances of Finding Nemo Jr. on Friday, July 18 at 6 PM and Saturday, July 19 at 2 PM.
Tickets for the performances will be available for purchase, and more details on ticket sales and the show will be shared as the camp progresses. Registration is now open, and more information about the camp, including the full schedule, pricing details, and registration instructions, can be found at www.pellcitycepa.com/camp.
