The Ford Meter Box Co., Inc., (fordmeterbox.com), is seeking someone to join our Shipping
Department on split shift.
Key job duties include but are not limited to:

Identifies finished products to be shipped by reading customer picking ticket. Pulls the required products from the warehouse by use of an order picker, forklift, pallet jack, movable ladder or any other powered shipping equipment and brings them to the shipping staging area.

Wraps and weighs skidded material by use of a wrapping machine, or bands the product to the skid, noting weight and carrier information on material.

Prepares larger completed orders for truck shipment by placing the order on a skid, wrapping and weighing it by use of a wrapping machine, or bands the product to a skid, builds a container around them or places them in a crate.

Produces bill of lading, verifying weight, carrier information and freight terms.

Produces packing slip and shipping labels to identify customer and destination and affixes to skidded material.

Prepares smaller completed orders for shipment by UPS/ Fed Ex, using a computer to produce address labels and shipping manifests.

Uses forklift or pallet jack to place completed skids of material in carrier trailers.

Works independently on assignments with limited supervision.
Must have basic computer skills and the ability to expand computer knowledge as required with company provided training. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training.
Candidates must have the ability to work independently, have strong organizational skills and initiative while working with the group. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 10:00am-8:30pm.
