Job Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervise all general operations of the clinic.
2. Oversee and track clinic expenditures and daily monetary procedures in accordance with approved budget and SCCHC Policies & Procedures.
3. Ensure the clinic has adequate building space, staffing, supplies, etc. to always run effectively and efficiently. Ensure that supportive staff are trained and scheduled to assist providers during all clinic hours.
4. Provide clear and consistent communication to staff and patients regarding clinic hours and closings via clinic calendar, flyers, Facebook, Website, etc.
5. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with community leaders, medical providers/personnel, referral sources, and stakeholders to further the SCCHC community footprint.
6. Recruit and retain clinic volunteers at every level including volunteer medical professionals, medical students, and providers.
7. Assist with grant writing and tracking outcome measures as needed.
8. Participate in Quality Improvement Committee comprised of Board Members, community volunteers, and other staff.
9. Advocate for SCCHC and patients both internally and externally.
10. Participate in both planning and implementing annual fundraising events.
11. “Be the face of the clinic” by speaking at scheduled events, attending key monthly meetings/fundraisers, and updating stakeholders on clinic successes/outcomes.
12. Represent SCCHC at monthly Alabama Free and Charitable Clinics Association meetings and the annual meeting in Montgomery.
13. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Skills & Abilities
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a clinical/medical setting
Minimum 3 years supervisory and/or managerial experience
Thoroughly skilled in office computer systems including tracking statistical data
Knowledge of electronic medical records system preferred
This position requires excellent communication skills, especially the ability to listen and ascertain verbal cues. Excellent communication skills with physicians and mid-level providers, volunteer nurses, clinic staff, patients, community stakeholders and partners, and non-clinical volunteers required.
Strong decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, tact, flexibility, and attention to detail
Flexibility – the work environment requires quick changes in routine and work with multiple personality types, including staff, patients, and volunteers.
Able to implement policies and protocols
Provide feedback to Board of Directors regarding effectiveness and efficiency of policies and protocols
Ability to evaluate clinical operations and work with leadership to improve systems while maintaining the highest quality of patient care
Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work on several projects successfully concurrently
Knowledge of current trends in primary care, rural medicine, and social determinants of health (SDOH)
